K-12 COIL promotes and supports Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) in K-12 education.
That's so exciting to do something with teachers from different countries. Yeah. So, we're just really excited about the idea.
I wish I could do the same project each year. It's as close as we can get without traveling there. And so that's nice!!!
It's funny, I've never experienced anything like this. I could see students from other countries., and I could also take classes and play games with them.
I support this project. One reason is that you don't need to pay anything, especially for students. Not every student gets the chance to go to another country with support from family.
We were far away from them, but we could still see each other, and hear their speeches, and they would immediately respond to what we said. This feeling is very special!
We have a board for our school and it was a topic of conversation there on what a great experience for the children that you don't get in most other classrooms. So, they were very happy that we participated and that the children got to be a part of it.
In today's world, we're not isolated. It is an international world. When these students get older and get out into the workforce, they're going to a lot of them will be dealing with colleagues from other countries. So I think it's important for them to be able to branch out and understand these other cultures and the similarities and the differences, from this time...this participating experience.
My students were very attentive and fully immersed in learning. If some problems happen during the process, they take proactive action and try to continue participating in learning activities as soon as possible. I have never seen them perform like this before.
It was my first time to have such an experience, and I felt very happy and excited. There were many interesting things during the course. Although we are far apart, we can still become good friends. And we can learn together.
I felt as if all classes were taking classes together in a large classroom. I could see and hear others speaking and making presentations, and everyone is my classmate.
